Population Change and Public Policy is a network in the making that would examine the challenges posed by demographic change in advanced industrial societies with a focus on the Canadian case.

The network aims to study the

  •  determinants and consequences of slow growth and population aging, a situation that Canada has in common with all of the European countries, Australia, and Japan
  • with focus on the unique features of the Canadian context.

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada has provided a grant to design the network.

The Population Change and Public Policy joined with the Lifecourse cluster to form the Population Change and Lifecourse Strategic Knowledge Cluster. A proposal for the new cluster has been approved for funding by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council. A website for the new cluster is under construction.
