Tax Credits & Funding

Co-operative Education Tax Credit

These are intended as guidelines only and are not intended to replace the current tax legislation.

The Co-operative Education Tax Credit (CETC) is a refundable tax credit available to businesses that employ post-secondary students enrolled in qualifying co-operative education programs at eligible educational institutions. In Ontario, the Co-operative Education Tax Credit allows you to deduct 25% - 30% of salaries, wages, and benefits to a maximum of $3,000 for each qualifying work term.

Please note:

Our short-term internship (10 - 16 weeks) is not eligible for the Co-operative Education Tax Credit (CETC). As such, we are not able to issue tax credit letters for students in our short-term option.

Our long-term internship (8 - 16 months) is eligible for the Co-operative Education Tax Credit (CETC), and we can issue tax credit letters for students on a work term that is 8 months or longer.

Federal Student Work Placement Program (SWPP)

Through the federal Student Work Placement Program (SWPP), organizations within Canada that offer full-time employment opportunities between 12-16 weeks for full-time Canadian post-secondary students can receive up to 70% in wage subsidies!

Please see our SWPP information page for more details and how to apply.
