Social Science Internship Program (SSIP)

The Social Science Internship Program is designed for upper-year students registered at main campus in the Faculty of Social Science to participate in paid and career-related internships for course credit (See Academic Calendar).

To be considered for internships occurring in the 2024-25 academic year, please review: 

Application Process (Short-term)- available to students in second, third and fourth year 

Application Process (Long-term) - available to students in third year 

The application form is now open on Western Connect. Your eligiblity will be assessed after final grades have been processed (late May 2024).

  • Drop-in Hours (SSC 2040): Tuesday + Thursday | 1:00pm - 3:00pm 

Available Lengths:

  • Short-term Internship (10 weeks to 4 months; 0.5 credit); typically in summer (Fall & Winter options available in third and fourth year)
  • Long-term Internship (8 – 16 months; 1.0 credit)

Commitment: Full-time (32+ hours per week)

Note: Students may not enroll in other courses during their internship work term without special permission.
