IntroductionThe term "Paleo-Indian" means old or ancient Indians. They were the first humans to occupy Ontario and the America's starting around 11,500 B.P. (Before Present) or around 9,000 B.C. The Paleo-Indians were a band level society and lived in small camps following and hunting the migrating caribou and other now-extinct mammals such as the mammoth.
