The Social Science Co-op Program is on a continuous hiring cycle for both short-term (10 weeks to 4 months) and long-term (8-16 months) options. This means we do not have set dates for posting, interviewing, and extending offers.
Typical Work Terms: Short-term (10 weeks to 4 months)
For short-term co-ops, we offer, Summer (May – August), Fall (September – December) and Winter (January – April).
Work terms must be at least 10 weeks in length. We find most students seeking short-term co-ops are interested in a summer work term.
Best time to Post a Role
Generally, we recommend posting a role 2-4 months before the start of the term. For summer roles, we will see most student engagement between the end of January and March.

Typical Work Terms: Long-term (8 - 16 months)
For the long-term co-ops, there are several options to fit your needs.
- 2025-2026 student cohort can start January, May or September 2026
- Work terms are 8 - 16 months in length
- Students have completed at least 3 years of full-time studies; students return to school to complete their final year of study in September 2027.
Possible start and end dates by length:
16-months: May 2026 to August 2027
12-months: May 2026 to April 2027 or September 2026 to August 2027
8-months: May 2026 to December 2026, September 2026 to April 2027 or January 2026 to August 2026

- August 11, 2025: Postings go live to students
- September 2, 2025: Earliest possible application deadline
- September 2, 2025 - August 14, 2026: Continuous interview & offer and acceptance period
- August 8, 2025: Final application deadline for 2024-2025 recruitment cycle
- Fall Reading Week: November 3 – 9, 2025
- Fall Exams & Holiday Closure: December 10, 2025 - January 5, 2026
- Spring Reading Week: February 14 - 22, 2026
- Final Exams: April 12 - 30, 2026
